Beautiful Golden Y Autographa pulchrina (Haworth, 1809) 73.016 BF2442
A different kind of ‘Y’ compared to the Silver Y (Autographa gamma). Thankfully this is a fresh specimen so it really shows it richness in colour and pattern for comparison. Similar to the Plain Golden Y (Autographa jota).Forewing length 17 to 20mm.
The adult flies June to August, and is found in various habitats, including woodland, hedgerows and gardens. Fairly common and widespread. The larva feeds on a range of low plants.
