Lesser Yellow Underwing Noctua comes

73.345 (BF2109) Lesser Yellow Underwing Noctua comes (Hübner, [1813])

Wingspan 37-45mm. Forewing length 16-21mm.

The forewing ground colour is fairly variable, as are the markings, but the brightly coloured hindwing has a dark crescent.

Lesser Yellow Underwing Noctua comes

The adult flies July to October. It is readily attracted to light, and is found in many habitats, including woodland and gardens. Resident, and common and widespread throughout. The larva feeds on a wide range of herbaceous plants.
